Joo-Lee discovered the Charleston in 1993 with the Jiving Lindy Hoppers and is now the most prolific swing dance teacher in the northeast. Combining her passion for music, dance and health & wellbeing, she created SwingFit to offer an alternative to exercise with pop, house or gym music.
SwingFit is a dance fitness class that brings you the steps and music from the swing era. With its low impact and high-energy moves, you will soon forget you're exercising, as you will be having so much fun enjoying the Lindy Hop, Charleston & Jive.
There will be different options to suit all levels of fitness so do come along even if you have no experience in any type of dance or exercise. All the moves will be explained clearly.
Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes and be ready to sweat, smile and shimmy!
You do not need a dance background or high level of fitness to try SwingFit. It doesn't matter if you’re 25, 55 or 85, you will soon move with ease as you adapt the pace to suit your own level. You’re guaranteed to have fun, learning classic jazz moves from dances such as the Charleston, Black Bottom and Shim Sham.
Joo-Lee believes that exercise can be effortless if the music ‘makes you want to dance’ and you’re having fun! She always creates hugely entertaining & engaging classes and everyone leaves with a huge smile.
