Blues 2 copy

"The Blues night was absolutely fabulous. There was a real mix of people – experienced dancers,  jivers, as well as people who were completely new to dance. Everybody had a great time! I just love it and I want more of it. And the teaching was absolutely great; very, very accessible even for people who have never danced a step, they all felt they could do it." Margaret

Weekly Thursdays @ Shakespeare Hall, North Road, Durham DH1 4SG (Tel: 0191 384 2748)

Shakespeare Hall is just across the road from Durham Bus Station. It's opposite the Walkabout pub, next door to Thomson. Look for a big green door and a small sign to the side, 'Durham Community Association'.

Parking:

  • Free Parking: some free parking is available around the area opposite the train station, near the Bridge Hotel. Unfortunately, the parking bays immediately outside the hall have now been deemed Loading Only all day, so are no longer a good place to park.
  • Gates Multi-Storey Car Park: We suggest that you use the Gates Shopping Centre Car Park. Directions from A1(M): From the A1(M), exit at the Durham City exit, onto the A690, and proceed towards Durham. Follow the A690 into Durham, going straight on at the first three roundabouts (signpost Crook and Consett). After the third roundabout, you will cross the river, and at the next roundabout 'Milburngate' (festooned in traffic lights) take the first exit (signpost Sidegate, Riverside & The Gates). Then take the first left to get to the carpark (signpost The Gates). Exiting the shopping centre on foot, turn right (towards the bus station, away from the city centre).
