About the Fast Track Workshops
To start, this is written by a person who wouldn’t get up for his wedding first dance.
After attending several beginners classes, dancing and talking with others I realised this was not a black art and should be enjoyed, to enjoy it I needed to relax. To relax I needed to understand, so when a Lindy Jazz Workshop came up, myself and Christine enrolled.
During the day we were shown how to relax, how to move. It was explained how moves not just went together but how they worked together, of course our faults were kindly shown to us and slowly as the day progressed so did confidence and more importantly, enjoyment .
I really enjoy the weekly classes but since attending both the Lindy and Charleston Fast Track Workshops, I feel more relaxed, so more confident to learn more.
I’m no seasoned dancer but I can say I enjoy it so much more (and its not quite as terrifying when Joo-Lee asks to dance).

It was a really good afternnoon and we enjoyed the space you created for people to be expressive, daft and free of inhibitions - this is what real community is about. This is really good learning - just like watching a toddler have some success at a physical skill - not always able to repeat it instantly at will, but it is in there somewhere... and will come out eventually.
It really interesting to see how the music can be understood in terms of structure, layers, sequences and phrasres etc.

Loved the workshop on Saturday and will hopefully be able to attend as many as I can. I felt the day was very well structured and as usual instructions from both you and Andy are clear and very easy to follow. Unlike many dance teachers I have worked with you embrace the class and make them feel as one, some teachers can be more concerned with showing their own abilities whereas you both share very well your obvious talent for this fun and fascinating dance.

I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop, it was brain-meltingly good :) I feel like I learned a lot.

I really enjoyed the workshop. I liked the pace and attention to detail. I like having plenty of feedback. You had a good balance of leaders and followers, always good.
I really, REALLY enjoy your unwitting double entendres! They make me laugh all the time and add to the fun!

Thanks so much for that Sunday workshop! Was absolutely brilliant and I'm still running all the ideas we talked about in my head to try and make my teaching better! Can't wait for the next one.

About the Classes
I think you cater well for different ways of learning by combining demos, explanations and by dancing with the learners yourselves. People will get different value from the various methods I guess depending on who they are. I think it's great that you put a lot of energy into refining small details of how you deliver workshops and run your business, from the instruction itself to providing food and personalized vouchers for future events and building your brand.

About the Fast Track Workshops
It was great to have the techniques broken down into the most minute detail because it allowed the moves that look very complicated to become a lot more achievable! There was a really lovely atmosphere and I thought it was really effective to ask people what level of feedback they would want.

First of all thank you so much for a fabulous weekend, we couldn’t stop talking about it and trying to remember all the little details on the way home from Durham. You’ve created such a great atmosphere and enthusiasm there. The people are so friendly and everybody made us feel at ease. Please pass on our gratitude to them, they made it very special for us. The organisation was outstanding, the choice of classes was brilliant, the band was fantastic, Andy’s music was superb, the food was delicious, hotel staff were friendly. We think the north of England is now well placed on the swing dance map of the UK.
