Alington House
The Alington House is a wonderful Community Centre situated in the heart of Durham City's historic center. The venue is where Lindy Jazz Club meets every Monday evening (except bank Holidays). It is situated on North Bailey close to Palace Green, Durham Castle and Cathedral. Best places to park are: along New Elvet, near the Durham Students' Union or Prince Bishop Multi-Storey.
MASONIC HALL, 36 Old Elvet, Durham DH1 3HN
Driving to the Masonic Hall: Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 (Durham City), then at roundabout take the 1st exit into Durham. At the next roundabout, take the first exit into New Elvet, keeping left. At the traffic lights, turn left (see Marriot Hotel on left). The Masonic Hall is on your left, next to the Dun Cow pub.
Walking to the Masonic Hall: 2 minutes from the Three Tuns Hotel. Step outside the Hotel, turn left, walk up the hill and you’ll see a Barclays Bank. Follow the road beside the bank (Court Lane) and you’ll end up in Old Elvet. The Masonic Hall is next to the Dun Cow pub.

From the Three Tuns Hotel, it's a 6-minute walk. Cross New Elvet at the traffic lights and walk up Elvet Bridge (see Swan & Cygnets on your right). At the top, turn right towards the Market Place (see Boots on your right). Walk towards Gala Theatre in front of you. The Slug & Lettuce is just next door to the Gala Theatre, down a few steps.

Three Tuns Hotel
Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 (Durham City), then at roundabout take the 1st exit into Durham A690.
At the Gilesgate roundabout, take the second exit into Durham A690, then at the next roundaout, take the first exit into New Elvet, keeping right. At the traffic lights, go straight ahead & turn immediately left into Hotel car park.
If you decide to walk or take public transportation, getting here is just as easy! From Durham train station, walk downhill, keeping left. You’ll soon see some steps on your left. Go down the steps follow signs to the Prince Bishops car park and head towards New Elvet. Pass the Half Moon pub and Prontaprint on your right. The Three Tuns Hotel is directly opposite.
