Workshops & Levels
We want you to enjoy the workshops. If you find that the class level is not suited to you, you’re welcome to change but please do so at the end of the class to minimize disruption.In order to enable everyone to maximize their learning experience, the teachers will expect dancers at level Intermediate & Adavnce to be very confident with their Swing Out, Lindy Circle and Charleston.

All groups will get Joseph & Trisha for Lindy Hop workshops. Andy will share his musicality secrets with you in his sessions in the bar.DJs
Andy’s enthusiasm for music, his extensive and constantly growing jazz, swing, and blues collection music, and his innate musicality and dance knowledge give him an edge as the resident Lindy Jazz DJ, and in consequence his skills as a Swing and Blues DJ are sought after both nationally and internationally. His ability to choose the perfect music for the occasion serve to make every Lindy Jazz event an exciting, unforgettable experience.Don has been DJ'ing for over 10 years for both Ceroc/Modern Jive events and for several years at Lindy Hop events in Sheffield, Manchester and other venues in the UK.

James Knott Hall, Trevelyan College, Durham University, Elvet Hill Road. DH1 3LN.Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 (Durham City), then at roundabout take the 1st exit into Durham. At the next roundabout, take the first exit into New Elvet, keeping right. At the traffic lights, go straight across, passing the Durham Students' Union (grey, boring building) on right. At the lights, bear right, take the right fork (Church Street). At traffic lights, go straight across onto South Road. Trevelyan College is the next right.

Driving to the Masonic Hall: Leave the A1(M) at junction 62 (Durham City), then at roundabout take the 1st exit into Durham. At the next roundabout, take the first exit into New Elvet, keeping left. At the traffic lights, turn left (see Marriot Hotel on left). The Masonic Hall is on your left, next to the Dun Cow pub.
Metered street parking just outside & also around the area (eg opposite near the Law Courts) and they are free on Sundays.

The students’ bar (very cheap!) will be open but you can also bring your own snacks & drinks if you like.Sunday daytime
There are soft drinks for sale at the bar in the Masonic Hall and lunch will be available for £2.50 (sandwiches, crisps & coffee/tea). Order these at registration.

The Highland Swingweekend of dancing for two
Imagine a lindy hop weekend set in a romantic castle in the Highlands of Scotland! Well look no further. The Highland Swing boasts small class sizes with top teachers providing 10 hours of classes per level. Teachers include Ryan Francois & Jenny Thomas (UK), Skye Humphries & Frida Segerdahl (USA / Sweden), plus Christi Guest & Paul Rankin (Scotland) and other tbc. The full weekend price of £200 includes accommodation in the castle and meals - so you can eat, sleep and dance in the beautiful Carbisdale Castle overlooking the salmon packed river Kyle. And if that isn't Scottish enough for you, there will be a themed dance on the Saturday night and an optional 'Whisky Bus' providing return travel from Edinburgh via a famous whisky distillery. Competition Judges
JOSEPH & TRISHA SEWELL are two of the most exciting, stylish and up and coming international dance teachers emerging from the UK swing dance scene. They won first place in the UK Lindy Hop Championships 2002 (Strictly Lindy division), where their trophy was presented by Lindy Hop legend, Frankie Manning. Together, they have set up Zoot Swing in Edinburgh in order to spread their love for swing dance throughout Scotland.
