Helen & Ben Birns from Edinburgh
RUSSELL SARGEANT & CAROLENE HINDS from the Jiving Lindy Hoppers (London) are dancers and teachers of outstanding talent. Russell studied at Italia Conti and Carolene at Laban. They have appeared in numerous TV and stage appearances and attract rave reviews from the press.
You've seen some of the movie clips, now get their latest tips on how to dance at speed. Learn the secrets of how to keep on top of the beat & show off those variations to high tempo dance tunes.
Ben & Helen Birns, originally from Melbourne, Australia have danced their way around the world through Japan, Sweden and England, and have set up Zoot Swing in Edinburgh in order to spread their love for the dance throughout Scotland.
Their dance experience includes competitions; public performances; learning form international Lindy Hop dancers; and numerous hours of fun on the social dance floor.
You will discover how to dance the Lindy Hop with style as they show you how to convert the sounds of the music to the patterns in your body and feet. Learn some shine steps to impress your partner (and yourself) as you dance with a feel for the musicality of the dance.

We kick off at 10.30 am in the Durham Students' with registration before the free beginner classes.
Saturday night party:
It’s going to be a great night at Trevelyan College. Get there for 8pm for a fun, ice-breaker class before the night of dancing to north’s top swing DJs starts at 9 pm.
Sunday:
Sunday classes start at 1 pm so you can catch your beauty sleep.
